Navy issues statement after its pilots do some creative skywriting

This probably won’t go down favorably in the annals of military history, but I’m going to go ahead and consider this one of the U.S. Navy’s most brilliant achievements. This Thursday Navy had to issue a statement saying that one of its pilots drew a dick in the sky over Washington State.

According to KREM 2, a mother living in Okanogan County looked up and saw some skywriting in the shape of what looked to be a penis, prompting her to immediately start snapping photos.

When the woman complained to KREM that she might have to explain to her children what the drawings were, the Navy released a statement voicing their displeasure.

“The Navy holds its aircrew to the highest standards and we find this absolutely unacceptable, of zero training value and we are holding the crew accountable,” the statement read.

KREM 2 spoke to the Federal Aviation Administration to get some information about who may have made the drawings. FAA officials said unless the act poses a safety risk, there is nothing they can do about. The official said they “cannot police morality.”

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials told KREM 2 that unless the skywriting posed a risk to public safety, they could do nothing about it, adding that the FAA “cannot police morality.”
