Pharmacist who destroyed COVID vaccine is a conspiracy theorist who thinks the vaccine ‘mutates’ DNA

The Wisconsin pharmacist who is accused of intentionally spoiling over 500 doses of the new coronavirus vaccine believed that the vaccine was harmful and that it changed human DNA, according to prosectors.

Advocate Aurora Health pharmacist Steven Brandenburg was arrested last week after an investigation revealed he was behind the 57 spoiled vials of the Moderna vaccine. According to NBC Connecticut, a detective wrote in a probable cause statement that Brandenburg is an “admitted conspiracy theorist” who told investigators he intentionally destroyed the doses because it could hurt people by “changing their DNA.”

“One of the earliest false claims suggested that the vaccines could alter DNA. The Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine as well as the Moderna vaccine rely on messenger RNA or mRNA, which is a fairly new technology used in vaccines that experts have been working on for years,” NBC Connecticut reports. “MRNA vaccines help train the immune system to identify the spike protein on the surface of the coronavirus and create an immune response. Experts have said there is no truth to the claims that the vaccines can genetically modify humans.”

According to Advocate Aurora Health Care Chief Medical Group Officer Jeff Bahr, Brandenburg admitted that he intentionally destroyed the doses by removing the vials from a refrigerator at the Grafton medical center, leaving them out overnight on Dec. 24 until Dec. 25. He then returned them to the refrigerator, then left them out again on the night of Dec. 25 until the next day.
