Porcelain dolls resembling young girls placed in front of their families’ homes

Here’s a story that has a creep factor level of 10.

From KTLA 5 News:

Eight families in San Clemente have been targeted in a disturbing pattern under investigation by authorities: porcelain dolls have been left at their homes resembling young girls who live there.

Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jeff Hallock initially said four families were involved, but later updated that figure to eight families.

Some of the girls, all about 10 years old, attend the same elementary school, Hallock said.

According to reports, 11 dolls crafted to resemble the girls were left on the doorstep of the families’ homes.

“Is it a prank? Is there some specific motivation?” Hallock said. “Obviously, there’s an indication by some the parents that the dolls resemble their daughters. We’re talking about children here.”

The story is still developing.
