Republican NC House Speaker accused of engaging in group sex for political favors

A lawsuit filed by a North Carolina city councilman accuses North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore (R-Cleveland County) of having an affair with his wife and engaging in group sex with people who were seeking political favors, WSOC-TV reported.

Scott Riley Lassiter is suing Moore and an unnamed defendant over claims of alienation of affections and civil conspiracy, as well as others.

Court documents say Moore “used his position as Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives to initiate contact and develop a personal relationship with Mrs. Lassiter, despite knowing that she was married to Plaintiff.”

Lassiter says he heard rumors that his wife was having an affair with Moore. In 2022, he spied his wife after she said she was going to see a movie with a friend, and he found that she instead went to dinner with Moore. He then claims his wife and Moore went to Moore’s home in Raleigh where the two had sex. He claims his wife admitted to the affair when she was confronted on Dec. 22.

The lawsuit says his wife admitted she “had engaged in sexual activity with Defendant Tim Moore (including group sex with other individuals seeking Tim Moore’s political favor), and that she feared ending the relationship with [Moore] would result in losing her job.”

Lassiter is suing for over $200,000 in damages.
