Trump responds to verdict that he sexually abused E Jean Carroll: ‘I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHO THIS WOMAN IS’

In a post to Truth Social this Tuesday, Donald Trump lashed out at the verdict that awarded advice columnist E. Jean Carroll $5 million in her civil suit against him.

A Manhattan jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing Carroll, but did not find that he raped her.

“I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHO THIS WOMAN IS. THIS VERDICT IS A DISGRACE — A CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME!” Trump wrote in all caps.

The federal jury of six men and three women determined Trump sexually abused Carroll and had damaged her reputation through a series of posts on Truth Social in October last year. He was found liable for $2 million in damages for sexually abusing Carroll and an additional $3 million for defaming her. Trump’s attorneys said they will appeal.

In the two Truth Social posts, Trump said the case was “a made up SCAM,” called Carroll’s lawyer “a political operative, financed by a big political donor.”

“Does anybody believe that I would take a then almost 60 year old woman that I didn’t know, from the front door of a very crowded department store, (with me being very well known, to put it mildly!), into a tiny dressing room, and …. her,” Trump wrote at the time.

Carroll sued Trump in November by taking advantage a New York law that went into effect the same day she sued him, which gives sexual assault survivors one-year to bring civil lawsuits against their abusers, even after the statute of limitations.
