Uvalde police are harassing the mother who rescued her children from Texas school shooting

Just over a month after the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, that left 19 students and 2 teachers dead, a mother who took matters into her own hands and rushed into the school to save her children now says that she’s being harassed by police, Fox29 reports.

Angeli Rose Gomez says she did what she did due to police inaction on that day. Now, now she says she’s facing increased police scrutiny, even at her own home.

“The other night we were exercising and we had a cop parked at the corner like, flickering us with his headlights,” she said, adding that she’s had to shield her boys from police actions “just so my sons don’t feel like they have to watch cops passing by, stopping, parking.”

From Fox29:

Her goal moving forward is to file a lawsuit. Her lawyer, who was sitting next to her during this interview, Mark Di Carlo, a criminal defense lawyer from Corpus Christi said, “the fact that he wasn’t fired immediately based upon whatever it is, hours of video, from testimonies such as Angeli’s; is an indication that there is some sort of what, corruption or wrong-doing.”
