White House Gift Shop already selling ‘Trump defeats COVID’ commemorative coin for $100

President Trump still isn’t quite out of the woods with his battle against the coronavirus, but that isn’t stopping the White House Gift Shop from making a commemorative coin celebrating Trump’s defeat of the virus available for preorder on the gift shop’s website.

The coins are priced at $100. As USA Today points out, the White House Gift Shop is not affiliated with the White House.

The coin was designed by White House Gift Shop chairman Anthony Giannini, who described the coin as the last in a series illustrating “President Trump’s ascendance over and defeat of the deadly COVID pandemic virus.”

“When we heard the sad news of President Trump’s positive COVID test, once again we had faith and prayed but we knew our President would find a way to Knockout COVID in early rounds of this battle,” Giannini wrote.

“President Trump, as you know, is a fan of boxing, and the new design includes more than a hint of superhero qualities in history’s most fascinating president,” he added.

Those who ordered the coin will have it shipped to them on November 14.
