During the RNC last week, there was a plethora of trinkets attendees could buy that referred to Hillary Clinton with some blatantly sexist monikers. Couple that with chants of “lock her up!” and speaker after speaker suggesting that she’s some sort of benevolent dictator, and it’s pretty clear that Hillary Derangement Syndrome has taken over.
Last Tuesday, Donald Trump adviser Al Baldasaro took things to another level. Speaking on Jeff Kuhner‘s radio show live from the RNC, Baldasaro made his opinion clear:
“This whole thing disgusts me, Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason,” Baldasaro said, adding that he thinks she’s a “piece of garbage.”
He doubled down on his comments to the Boston Globe:
“When you take classified information on a server that deals with where our State Department, Special Forces, CIA, whatever in other countries, that’s a death sentence for those people if that information gets in the hands of other countries or the terrorists,” he said. “As far as I’m concerned, that’s information for the enemy. In the military, shot, firing squad. So I stand by what I said.”
Calling for Hillary to be executed isn’t a unique idea in the realm of Trump land. During the convention festivities, the folks at Mother Jones went around interviewing Trump fans, and Baldasaro’s trigger-happy political message seems to fairly prevalent.
