Robert Mueller is now investigating Ivanka Trump

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is reportedly now looking into an interaction between a Russian lawyer and First Daughter Ivanka Trump regarding a controversial meeting at Trump Tower during the 2016 campaign.

Although Ivanka wasn’t in attendance at the meeting, she reportedly exchanged greetings with the Russian lawyer and a lobbyist who was also in attendance, according to the Los Angeles Times.

It occurred at the Trump Tower elevator as the Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, and the lobbyist, Rinat Akhmetshin, were leaving the building and consisted of pleasantries, a person familiar with the episode said. But Mueller’s investigators want to know every contact the two visitors had with Trump’s family members and inner circle.

In June of 2016, the President’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., met with the attorney who promised him damaging information on them Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The meeting, which took place at Trump Tower, was a notable aspect of Mueller investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with elements of the Russian government.

Trump Jr. had said the meeting was primarily about a program that dealt with “the adoption of Russian children,” and had nothing to do with the campaign.

Also on attendance at the meeting were the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

According to Michael Wolff’s new book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, former Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon said there was “zero” chance that President Trump didn’t know about the meeting.

“The chance that Don. Jr did not walk these Jumos up to his father’s office on the 26th floor is zero,” an excerpt from the book reads.
