A Christian school teacher in Mobile, Alabama, has been arrested and charged for having sexual relations with a minor student, NBC15 reported.
Jonathan Sauers, who taught and coached soccer at Faith Academy, was charged for being a school employee engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19 years and engaging in sexual contact with a student under the age of 19 years.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office says the 16-year-old victim told her parents she was going to Walmart in Semmes. When she didn’t return home, her parents went to look for her and ultimately found her parked car and called police.
As police were on the scene investigating, the girl returned to her car and was questioned by police — who got her to admit that she was having an affair with Sauers.
Sauers taught a bible course for 11th graders as well has varsity soccer for both girls and boys.
