Approval ratings for GOP governors tank as coronavirus continues to spike

The GOP governors for four states are seeing their approval ratings drop significantly as the coronavirus continues to spike, according to a report from Axios.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp all saw disapproval ratings of 55 percent or higher in a survey that was conducted in mid-July. Ducey and DeSantis had the highest disapproval ratings, topping out at 62 and 58 percent.

Interestingly, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is seeing a huge surge of the virus in his state, but his approval ratings have stayed relatively the same. California saw 12,800 new cases on Wednesday.
