Jim Bakker says he’ll stop selling his bogus coronavirus cures after threats from state and federal agencies: ‘I’m so heartbroken’

Earlier this month, Jim Bakker was ordered by state and federal agencies to stop claiming that his “Silver Solution,” which was being sold on his program The Jim Bakker Show, could be used to kill the novel coronavirus. The agencies apparently took notice in February after Right Wing Watch posted a clip of his show featuring him and guests boasting about the product’s effectiveness and claiming the product could kill the virus.

Bakker, a fervent purveyor of End Times apocalypse predictions and die-hard supporter of President Trump, isn’t happy with the situation, so he spent part of Tuesday’s show complaining that his claims weren’t misleading and that this was all “warfare.”

“Certain government agencies have claimed that some statements made by guests on this show could have potentially been interpreted to give the wrong impression about Silver Solution treating or curing COVID-19,” Bakker said. “While I strongly disagree with the idea that these statements were in context any way misleading … in response to these government agencies, and after prayerful thought, we have suspended offering silver solutions.”

“My heart is broken,” he added. “We know this is an inconvenience to those of you, our partners, who regularly use the Silver Sol solution and have done so for decades.”

“It has tore up a lot of our viewers,” he continued. “I am so heartbroken. It’s just like there is warfare. If there has ever been warfare in this country, it is now.”
