In front of an empty television studio this Thursday, televangelist Kenneth Copeland tried again to make the coronavirus disappear via the power of Jesus. But this time around he took a slightly different approach.
Copeland led a prayer with his fellow evangelists who dutifully repeated each his of his commands, where he once again returned to his tactic of angrily chastising the virus in the name of God.
“Today, we speak to this atmosphere from the state of Washington to the state of Maine,” he declared, “From Southern California to Brownsville, Texas. And the tip of Florida. And wherever else in the world it’s needed.”
“Wind! Almighty! Strong! South wind! Heat! Burn this thing! In the name of Jesus! Satan, you bow your knees! You fall on your face.”
He then called the virus by name, saying, “COVID-19 … pfttttttt!”
“I blow — the wind of God … on you,” he continued. “You are destroyed forever, and you’ll never be back.”
