Lawyer who was shamed on video for snatching a Black woman’s wig off her head is fired from his job

Anthony Orlich, a New York attorney who was called out in a viral TikTok video after he allegedly snatched a wig off a Black woman’s head, has lost his job, The Root reported.

Lizzy Ashliegh posted the video to TikTok which showed her following Orlich and accusing him of snatching the wig off her head as he smirked and tried to get away. Another person, identified as one of Orlich’s friends, can be seen trying to get Orlich to apologize.

“Sir, for what f***ing reason? For what reason? For what reason did you take my wig off?,” she can be heard saying in the video. “Because what made you think that that was the good thing to do? For what? For what? Why did you do that?”

After the video went viral, internet detectives discovered Orlich’s identity and place of employment, working as a litigator for Leader Berkon Colao & Silverstein LLP. According to The Root, Orlich’s employee profile has since been removed from the company’s website.

“We have been made aware of a video of a non-work related incident involving one of our associates circulating on social media,” a statement from the firm said. “We take seriously any inappropriate behavior by any employee, whether inside or outside the workplace. This associate is no longer with the Firm.”
