Patriot Front member arrested in Idaho last year admits to possessing child porn

A Utah man who was arrested alongside members of a white nationalist group in Idaho last year has admitted to possessing child pornography, Fox 13 reported.

Jared M. Boyce, 28, pleaded guilty last month in a Utah court to nine felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and a misdemeanor count of dealing in material harmful to a minor. Boyce was among 31 members of the group who were arrested after they were seen climbing into a U-Haul truck after they were allegedly planning to provoke violence at an Idaho Pride event.

Prosecutors say that the FBI searched Boyce’s phone soon after he was arrested in June of last year and found images that depicted a child performing sex acts. He admitted that the images were his and that he had also sent a picture of his genitals to a 16-year-old girl.

Speaking to The Daily Beast last year after his arrest, Boyce’s mother said that she was so disgusted with her son’s actions that she kicked him out of her house. She said that she was going public with hopes of damaging her son’s reputation with the group and to steer him away from extremism.

“I would love to do whatever I can to out him [as a Patriot Front member] so that he can’t be a part of it,” his mother Karen Amsden, said, “and that they don’t want him to be a part of their group because his mom has loose lips and a big mouth and he’s never going to get away with anything.”

Boyce has been in jail since March 10. The charges related to the Idaho incident are still pending against him. He faces up to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced Tuesday.
