Police in Oklahoma arrested a woman suspected of sexually abusing a three-year-old girl after her boyfriend — who was also the father of the child — went through her phone and found videos and images of her committing the acts, KOCO News reported.
According to KOCO’s report, the distraught man contacted police and told them about the woman’s actions, saying that he met her online and recently moved in with her.
One night while she was sleeping, police said he went through her cellphone and found disturbing images and videos of a girl.
Stillwater police officers and detectives spoke with the suspect, 19-year-old Ashlee Cheatham from Midwest City, and arrested her. Police said Cheatham admitted to the crimes.
“A lot of us are parents, the police officers here, and members of the community as well. If you had that little sinking feeling, trust your gut. Do a thorough background check on everybody that’s going to watch your kids,” said Lt. TJ Low with the Stillwater Police Department.
