Trump is privately worried he could face charges over Capitol attack

According to an adviser to Donald Trump speaking to CNN, the former president has privately expressed worry that he could face charges related to the Capitol attack that took place on Jan. 6.

CNN’s report also stated that Trump’s silence since leaving the White House is partly related to his concerns.

“He’s worried about it,” the adviser reportedly said.

Mitch McConnell’s speech after Trump’s acquittal in his impeachment trial probably didn’t make him feel any better, implying that Trump’s alleged role in sparking the attack should be looked into by the legal process.

When asked by a reporter last month if investigators were looking Trump’s role in the attack, acting US Attorney Michael Sherwin had said, “We’re looking at all actors here and anyone that had a role and, if the evidence fits the elements of the crime, they’re going to be charged.”
