CCTV footage has been released of the high-speed train derailment outside Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain this Wednesday. The crash has reportedly left around 80 people dead, including one American, although authorities warn that the death toll may rise. At 178 people were injured.
The driver was placed under formal investigation this Thursday after the video revealed that the train was traveling at a high rate of speed around a sharp turn.
The rail disaster is one of the worst in Spanish history.
