When First Daughter Ivanka Trump made an unannounced visit to Norwalk High School in Connecticut, some parents were upset that weren’t notified ahead of time, prompting them to pull their kids out of school, according to a report from News 12 Connecticut.
During the visit in which IBM CEO Ginni Rometty tagged along, Trump discussed the importance of career education, which has been the subject of her tour of schools around the country. Trump told reporters that she wants to “see the passion and enthusiasm for bringing real life skills into a classroom environment but then coupling it with real life experience through internship creates this really beautiful virtuous angle.”
But some parents who aren’t too find of the Trump dynasty weren’t that pleased with the surprise visit.
“This should have been brought to our attention, although I do understand security reasons,” parent Karey Fitzgerald told News 12. “I think we should have had the choice to send our child to school or keep them home.”
In a Facebook post from this Monday, Trump shared photos of her visit and praised the school for enabling students to “thrive in the modern economy.”
