Pat Robertson: ‘Sophisticated’ Americans are Less Likely to Experience Miracles (VIDEO)

This Monday, televangelist Pat Robertson told his viewers that “sophisticated” Americans are less likely to experience divine miracles because they are prone to believe in more scientifically-based things.

On his CBN show The 700 Club, Robertson responded to a viewer who asked why “amazing miracles happen with great frequency in places like Africa” and not here in the United States.

“People overseas didn’t go to Ivy League schools,” Robertson replied. “We’re so sophisticated, we think we’ve got everything figured out. We know about evolution, we know about Darwin, we know about all these things that says God isn’t real.”

“We have been inundated with skepticism and secularism,” he went on to say. “And overseas, they’re simple, humble. You tell them God loves them and they say, ‘Okay, he loves me.’ You say God will do miracles and they say, ‘Okay, we believe him.’”

So if you’re uneducated you are more likely to believe anything and if you are “sophisticated” you are more likely to apply logic and knowledge? Well, he is right about that, but … is he trying to say that being dumb and gullible is better than being smart? Because that’s beyond stupid in of itself. I’d like to see him reject all scientific knowledge and be “truly humble” by stopping his intake of whatever miracle drugs it is that keeps him alive to spew unmitigated stupidity far beyond his expiration date.

Kind of like saying, more educated people are less likely to be stupid.

LMAO…”Inundated with skepticism?” Yeah, Pat…that’s what the rest of the world calls “education.” Check it out some time.

can’t argue with you there, pat. smart people don’t believe in miracles while uninformed and undereducated people do.

The reason we experience less divine miracles is because when something good happens to us, we are smart enough to credit our own resourcefulness and not some invisible man who hides in the clouds and picks and chooses who to bless and who not to bless.
