During a Q&A session at the Oxford Union this Saturday, CNN commentator and former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was confronted by a student questioner over Trump’s apparent lack of “follow-through.”
After the floor event was opened for questions, a female student challenged Lewandowski on Trump’s “agenda,” first reciting a list of the president-elect’s recent reversals on rhetoric from his campaign rhetoric.
“So my question to you is: How do you have so little self-respect that you can stand here and defend a candidate who is not only a bigot but a liar who doesn’t have the courtesy to follow through?”
After the applause subsided, Lewandowski smugly brushed off the question, only to regurgitate an old line from the campaign.
“Here’s what it comes down to,” Lewandowski said. “Mexico will pay for the wall and it’s very simple.”
“You can believe it, you can not believe it,” he said over the laughter.
